F O L K F I L M (The Revolution Will Not Be Digitised)
A Moviefesto for a Moving Cinema:
Folk Film is a call to cinematic arms,
for movies without answers,
with thought behind them,
improvisation, rigour and integrity in front of them,
crafted, organic and individual,
impressionistic and intimate,
with feeling, process and meaning:
|
1. create movies with guts, ideas and emotions;
2. handcrafted by instinct and mistakes;
3. improvised with rigour, poetry and freedom;
4. choreogeography - movies that move in sound and vision;
5. where talk is not cheap and silence is a rhythm;
6. where there is no such thing as incidental music.
7. where the underground stream, not the mainstream, is the problem;
8. where low budget doesn't mean good film;
9. and The Revolution Will Not Be Digitised;
10. Eisenstein did not have Final Cut Pro.
